W910 - 3G and HSDPA Walkman phone entertainment platform supporting Java 8 (JP-8)

Sony Ericsson has unveiled its latest phone Walkman, Sony Ericsson W910 Walkman, which apparently redefines music on the mobile. With support HSDPA, this phone offers a high-speed Internet access and all the goodies of a Walkman phone - high-quality audio, 3D games and the Lot.

The W910 comes with an updated Media Manager to transfer videos / photos / music to and from your phone. You can mix your playlist waving the cell phone, which I think is loved by many people.

The phone also includes the latest version of PlayNow (version 4.0) mobile download service - which allows you access to tons of music from Sony BMG. You can buy songs on your phone after sampling tracks.

Sony Ericsson also offers a Memory Stick 1 GB micro with the phone. The W910 is based on Sony Ericsson Java Platform 8 (JP-8), supporting Mobile Architecture (MSA) JSR 248, the next generation Java umbrella standard. MSA aims to reduce fragmentation in the industry by creating a predictable environment for developers, thus reducing porting issues when developing new applications and games for the new generation of phones. Mobile 3D gaming is supplemented with A / B buttons Thursday for the game in landscape mode.

W380 - Walkman Clamshell Gesture Control

Sony Ericsson W380 is a tri-band, Clamshell Walkman-style phone offers the new gesture control functionality provides quick and easy control over the phone without touching it - mute a call or snooze alarm sweeping a hand across the camera. The exterior contains a hidden organic light emitting diode (OLED) external display that illuminates to show the track, call or message information.

In more news from Sony Ericsson, the latest addition to Walkman Line has been unveiled. Available in Q3 of this year, the W980 Walkman phone boasts distortion free stereo sound and 8GB of internal memory (or up to 8000 songs) in a clamshell "Walkman on Top" design that replicates the Walkman controls on the outside of the phone for quick navigation through your music library.



The W980 Walkman is a HSPDA Clamshell phone features superior sound quality, a built-in FM transmitter, music management with Shake Control and trace detection use TrackID. The W890 also includes a 320x240 pixels, 262K TFT QVGA display, 8 GB of internal memory, 3.2 megapixel camera, picture and video blogging, media browser and Media Manager PC software.

The W980 is based on Sony Ericsson's Java Platform 8 (JP-8), supporting Mobile Services Architecture (MSA) JSR 248, the next generation of Java umbrella standard. Mobile 3D games are enabled by Mascot Capsule v3, Mobile 3D Graphics API (JSR 184) and OpenGL ES API (JSR 239), and boosted by motion sensor access to JSR 256.

A built-in FM transmitter allows users to send their songs to hi-fis, car stereos and other integrated stereo speakers. Additionally, users will be able to access up to five million tracks via Sony Ericsson’s over-the-air and web download service PlayNow arena, which is being launched this May. The W980’s TrackID feature is incorporated into PlayNow arena, and identifies tracks automatically, allowing users to download them instantly.

The phone provides a choice of eight customizable equalizer presets allowing users to switch between varied music styles, while enjoying the best sound settings for each song.

The W980 Walkman phone is to be bundled with the company's Stereo Portable Handsfree HPM-77 - a new in-ear design that reduces background noise.

The 100 gram W980 features two screens, which both have 262,144 colour TFT. The main screen is 2.2 inches wide, and has a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels, while the external screen has a resolution of 176 x 176 pixels.

The phone also sports a 3.2 megapixel camera with 3.2x digital zoom. It allows picture and video blogging, and the Access NetFront Web browser provides video streaming, web feeds and photo feeds.

Sony Ericsson Walkman Phones History

After losing a large part of the market to other companies, Sony last attempt to revive the Walkman brand involves a series of music centered on mobile phones marketed under the brand name Sony Ericsson.

Unlike most online Walkman, Sony Ericsson Walkman Phones do not support, and therefore can not play, owned by Sony ATRAC audio format (with all its variants). Walkman phones do support AAC and MP3.

The W800 and W550/W600 have many audio capabilities including lists of audio playback Equalization, support for M4A audio file format, and the ability to function only as a music player, with the electronic phone off. It also includes mobile standard features like a 2-megapixel auto-focus camera. The W550/W600 has 256 MB of internal memory, while the W800 includes a 512 MB Memory Stick.

The W810 is a Quad-EDGE enabled phone band launched in response to a request by black Walkman Phone. Other than minor changes in the software and hardware, most similar characteristics to those of the W800.

Sony Ericsson also launched the W900 (considered the successor to the S700), which in addition to audio and camera capabilities W800, also has 3G video calls and streaming, improved video recording ( 30 frames per second), a larger display, and 470 MB of internal memory that can be extended up to 2 GB. In February 2007, the W880 was announced and released. It has a design that is only 9.4 mm thick and a metal plate face. Being one of the smallest phones on the market, it has proved very popular.

The popularity of the Walkman-brand phone May be an indication that the portable audio and mobile telephony markets are beginning to converge. Walkman phones are equipped with applications such as track ID, PlayNow and M-Buzz and, from June 2007 Sony Ericsson claims to have sold over 26.5 million Walkman phones since the launch in September 2005. Sony Ericsson is considered to have had more success with music and the convergence of mobile phones, largely attributed to the Walkman heritage and expertise from Sony.
